CAPSI UofT and UTIHI are collaborating to offer an IPE event in the context of Heart Failure. This event will feature Heather Kertland, a clinical specialist and leader in the Heart, Vascular and Respiratory Program at St Michael’s Hospital, Unity Health Toronto. Her area of clinical expertise is cardiovascular diseases, in particular, acute coronary syndromes and arrhythmias. Heather has held many leadership and teaching roles at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy and has been named professor of the year 3 times.

In this event, students will be introduced to heart failure, be exposed to interprofessional strategies for heart failure assessment, management, and self-care, and apply this to a case study. Students will grow an appreciation for the roles of various professions in heart failure care and offer appropriate resources to heart failure patients and family members.
